When I select a SD3 kit to load into SD3 It loads about 40 mb and SD3 freezes/crashes. When I load and use Alaire, Avatar, Hit Factory that I transfered from SD2 I have no problem. SD3 sounds are on external SSD drive purchased from Toontrack. Alaire etc are stored internally.
The SSD external drive is 3.0 USB… PC USB port is 3.1… USB 3.0 and 3.1 are suppose to be compatible but thats the only thing I can see that could be causing a crash when loading sounds from the SSD.
I have the path set to the external drive and it is recognized by SD3.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Such crashes are usually caused by a corrupt sound library.
If you could run the following command in Command Prompt, it will calculate the checksums for all the SD3 library files:
for /r E:\SL-SuperiorDrummer3 %F in (*) do @certutil -hashfile "%F" MD5 | find /v "hashfile command completed successfully"
(Copy/paste that entire line to a Command Prompt window and press Enter.)
When it finishes, post the results here (as text or an attached text file), please.

Olof, the forum won’t let me post the results of the command prompt. Says it is marked as spam and a moderator will review my post.
Olof,I’ll try to post again.Â

Thanks, yes, it looks like there are some serious problems with that disk. I think you should contact support about getting a replacement.

Olof, this is a replacement disc so its not likely that I have received two bad drives. I just received it two days ago. My PC is new Dell Inspiron 12gb ram. A curious thing that happens is when I plug the disc into the second 3.1 USB port which should be F the drive still says E. I have a flash drive that is normally in F. I am trying to research issues that cause a I/O error but its not my forte.
I tried some things to get the Drive to work and all failed. Checked for driver updates. Changed drive letter. On the new PC that I’m trying to get the drive to work , the folder color indicator is red. The rest, such as C etc are blue. I connected the drive to another PC that I have and the drive is red there as well. Maybe the update for the drive screwed it up. At this point I have no idea what to do. Been working on this issue for over two weeks.
I really think it’s most likely that you had the bad luck of getting a second faulty disk sent to you. Once you get a new one, I suggest you make a backup copy of the contents if you can.
