SD3 Is constantly crashing my cubase the moment i try...

SD3 Is constantly crashing my cubase the moment i try to switch tabs on Sd3 say like to the groove editor or mixer ….. is any one else seeing this with Cubase 10.5 & Catalina  its driving me nuts?

Hi Gaetano,

I can open your project with Cubase 10.5 on Mojave without problems. What do you do before it crashes? Do you have any crash logs? (See https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/sd3-catalina-cubase-10-5/#post-2493020 for how to find crash logs.)

No crashes here after loading this project and clicking around. Can you confirm if SD3 works for you in the standalone and in Cubase 10.0.x?

Ok stop gaetano HiJacking my thread ….

 

I’ve just done a fresh Catilina install

the only other thing I have installed is UAD driver for the sound card

and Superior Drummer 3

 

I make a blank project ….

I add an instrument track  and select SD3

I Open Sd3 all seems ok

I Select a groove make sure I have sound

I save it as a template

I Quit cubase From the menu

I open Cubase

I select my Blank Template

CRASH …. 2 out of 3 Trys

so I repeat the install wipe the drive clean … reinstall Catalina SD3 Cubase 10.5 UAD and Same Result …

Daryl, can you confirm if SD3 works for you in the standalone and in Cubase 10.0.x?

SD3 was fine in Cubase pro 10.0

Yeah, I think it’s a bug in 10.5.0. Many Mac users are experiencing crashes and freezes in 10.5 with various plug-ins that worked fine in 10.0, and also without any plug-ins.

just got the Cubase Pro 10.5.5 update and SUPERIOR is even worse

I’m having the same issue – occurs when I load an existing cpr with a track already setup with SDR3. I can create a new blank cpr and load SDR3 but any existing cpr with SDR3 crashes every time.

I’m attaching a full crash report but here are the high level system and sw specs:

Macbook Pro (15inch -2016)

Mohave 10.14.6 (18G2022)

Mem 16G

Cubase 10.5.5

UAD Apollo x8p , 9.9.9.0 build 65969

Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.1.5
Operating system: macOS Mojave (10.14)

cubase 10.5.5 seems to be working with everything but not with my superior drummer 3 music is at a stand still…….

i dont think this is the case they just updated cubase and everything works except Superior drummer 3 …

This has nothing to do with Catalina (albeit there are plenty of other woes there)

I am running Cubase 10.5.5 on Mohave

Same issue as the above users are experiencing.

After updating from Cubase 10.0 to 10.5 trying to load an existing cpr (Cubase file) with SD3 VST will crash Cubase. I have posted in their forums as well as here but I have not seen any updated review on this forum. It appears to be graphics related. Please see attached crash dumps.

Since SD3 does load in Cubase 10.0 as well as stand-alone I understand a lack of urgency here but please take a look at these crash dumps and see if you can identify the root cause. Coordinate with Steinberg? I count on SD3 _and_ Cubase for sessions. We love SD3 and have standardized on Cubase.

Please help.
