Here’s the pattern I’m trying to emulate:

    • It’s 3/4 straight time (not shuffle)
    • Alternating between forward and backward swirls on every beat
    • Kick on 1
    • Other hand light snare taps throughout
    • Hi-Hat on 1, 2, and 3

In the image, the long MIDI notes are forward and backward swirls, just like I want them, but they stop any time the snare is tapped. I tried moving them up to the brushTrig notes, but nothing different happened. How am I supposed to program in the swirls so that they keep going?

Did you ever figure this out? I am trying to program swirls and hits as well.

Nada. Never learned anything new. Eventually gave up, pulled out my real snare and real brushes and recorded it live. I sure wish there was a better answer!

You make 2 instances of the same kit. The second plays the “taps” where you want them. Impossible with only one instance.
