This *should* be trivially easy, but I find no way to rename/retitle a Block in the SD3 Track. How? I see you can change the color (by changing the Song Part) but I want to change the name/title to something meaningful, instead of “Hats Tight” or somesuch. (And where the heck does “Hats Tight” come from, when in the Groove Browser it’s clearly named “Verse 01”?
A very related feature request: display the Block names in the Grid Editor. It’s nice that at least Grid Editor uses the Block colors, but the names would be handy, too.

I would also love to know the answer to this, as it’s hard sometimes to keep track of which files are being used in the arrangement when the titles don’t match.

Hi all. I posted a link to this request this in Requests & Feedback. https://www.toontrack.com/forums/forum/customer-service/requests-and-feedback/
This thread request goes back two years. Might weigh in over there if still interested. The squeaky wheel and such….
SD3 3.4, EZK2.1.3, EZ Bass 1.3.1, Win11, i9/9900, all SSDs, 64g RAM, Cakewalk, Studio One
I was trying to do this and I can’t. I would request this feature too! +1

The “Hats Tight” or whatever else name is displayed comes from the Edit Play Style settings.
You can have a groove called Verse 01 but the default play style will be set to Hats Tight, so that’s the name that is displayed. When you change the play style to “Hi-Hat Open Tip 2” for example, then this will be the name displayed. You can move the power hand to Ride and the name will follow that setting.
I hope that clears the issue a bit. 🙂

Thanks for that. I think that, with all the other users that have chimed in here, the bottom line is that, regardless of the original name, we all want the ability to change that name to be more meaningful to our particular situation.
Can we look forward to having user-editable clip names in a new release soon?
It’s been over two years since I posted this thread originally, and other users continue to +1 this as a feature they want, too.
This is desperately needed.

Do you have a link to the specific thread over there? Thanks.

I too really need this feature as I may have multiple Verse !s in a song!
Hello, I’m a brand new user, running mainly as a ProTools plug-in. Same request…PLEASE allow custom naming of blocks 🙂
All the best,
-Mike
Operating system: Windows 10
I too work in PT and do my renaming in PT. I use individual outputs from SD3 to individual tracks in PT with tracks bussed to aux’s in SD3 using the recommendations SD3 gives (with modifications of course).

Apologies for the delayed reply. I think I added to this thread in the Requests area:
