SD2: is it possible to install the basic sample library in the main drive, and the rest to an external drive?

I am thinking of buying Superior Drummer 2.0 with the full 50GB library expansion, and would like to have just the standard base sounds in the main OS drive of my mac (so when I travel I can still use it), and only have the external drive for the rest of the sample library.

is it possible at all?
