If i make a stack sound on a particular drum(layering 2 snares for example) can i save just that drum into the library, when i tried to save just the snare using the ‘user preset’/’save as’ it seemed to save the whole kit.How can i just do one single drum?
also, if i want to have a custom ‘default mixer’ set up do recommend me using the top left ‘File’/’Save As’ or the “User preset’/’Save As’ to the right- i am not sure of the difference of these 2 ‘Saving’ methods?
Thanks!
Hi,
if you right-click the instrument, e.g. your stacked snare, you navigate to ‘More > User Instruments > Save As…’.
When Saved, you find it under the same menu and it can be used to replace an instrument or ‘Add Instrument’.
If you want to have a Custom Default mixer, the option is to have a Custom Default Project, which includes the Mixer state. Once set up as what you would like as your Default state, you save this and ‘Set Current to Default Project’ in the ‘File’ Menu.
A Project save includes the entire state of SD3, including e.g. MIDI on the Song Track and applied MIDI Presets, etc. A Drums and Mixer Preset includes… well, Drums and Mixer.
