Save complete kit to internal HD, leave remaining sound library on external HD?

I have a Macbook Air with 256gb HD. SD3 sound library is on an external HD. Can I load a single kit onto my internal HD while leaving the remainder of the sound library on the external HD? Here’s why I want to do that:

• my laptop has two USB-C ports and I’m currently using both: one for the external HD and one to connect to my eKit module
• I want to use one of the USB-C ports on my laptop to send USB to an X-air mixer for live gigs
• When playing live, I’ll only use one custom kit that I’ve created in SD3, I don’t need the remaining sound library files
• For simplicity’s sake, I’d like to forego having to bring the external HD to gigs.
• Plus, I’m not sure a USB splitter would work to allow me to mange 3 usb cables with only 2 ports on my laptop

If you mean a single kit then I don’t think that is possible.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

A good powered USB hub might work. The reason I’m saying a powered hub is that I’m assuming your external SSD is bus powered. Take a look at the Other World Computing web site as they specialize in Mac stuff.
