Samples only play when tracker window open?

Using SD3 as plug in protools…..If I start playback with any window other than tracker open it doesn’t fire off the samples (even though the cursor in the MIDI window at the bottom still moves). Every time I happen to stop and start I need to start with tracker open just to be able to hear anything, or if closing the plugin while any other window open it also won’t playback. Surely this can’t be normal?

do you have MIDI on the Song Track or only tracked audio in the Tracker?

Hi John, only audio in the tracker.

Also, while I imagine it’s unrelated, just FYI I had issues with library installers crashing my rig. Initial install and first extra library went fine but Fields of Rock and Progressive Foundry would not install to my internal sample drive, either shutting down or freezing while installing. Installing to an alt drive then moving to the sample drive worked fine however, as there’s nothing wrong with my sample drive (which also is my video storage as I mostly work to picture).

Hi,

if you haven’t exported Tracked Audio to the Song Track, basically still in Tracking mode, playing the PT timeline with any other window than the Tracker ‘active’ will not play the Tracker Audio/MIDI.

As I understand it, it’s simply because if you have exported the Tracked Audio to MIDI on the Song Track, you can’t be forced to erase what you have Tracked and Edited in the Tracker, if you want to revisit and further edit. And you can’t have both playing at the same time, right?
