You are missing a DAW and an Audio Interface that has the amount of outputs you need.

If I’m wrong and the Roland Module can somehow accept 16 tracks of isolated audio and then assign them to it’s individual outputs, I assume someone will correct me.

First you will need an audio interface that has 8 independent audio outputs to keep the same 8 outputs that you have on the TD 50 module.

Then you will need to configure the internal mixer of the audio interface to assign 8 channels to the 8 outputs.

Finally you will need to configure the EZDrummer 3 mixer to route each of the instruments to each of the interface mixer channels and from there to the audio outputs.

I’m trying to use EZD3 off a laptop with MIDI over usb to send midi to EZD3, then get the sound sent back to the module and out those direct outs so that FOH can maintain individual drum control. I can only get EZD3 to output through the master outputs Left and Right on the module. In midi setup when i check all the other channels as outputs nothing comes out of them. What am i missing?

    Hi,

user d1ondbeat posted a couple of years ago about the TD-50X being able to act as a multi-out audio interface in the SD3 section of the Help Forum, so the same should be possible with EZD3, at least he seems to be using EZD3:

The answer to the user original question about playing SD3’s output back through TD50x’s 8 Digital outputs, is yes.  There is a setting in the OUTPUT-USB on TD50X for USB “Loopback” and gives you that ability.  You also have to set the OUPUT to “Vendor” as well to have your PC recognize the TD50X.  On the computer, you have to choose ASIO, and then the audio output to TD50X outputs.   In the SD3 mixer, you’ll see all 32 output channels, too, and you can individuall assign the outputs.   You can of course play around with all the assignable output settings on the TD50X.   I have them set to use 8 direct outputs, and also the mains’s for my monitors.   The PD-14DS digital features are all recognized by SD3 as well.   All the setting, configuration, and execution to get this work is in the manual for the TD50X.   Note: you can upgrade TD-50 firmware to work like the newer TD-50X, though it’s a $199 cost to do download and upgrade.  Read the caveats to upgrading though, you’ll lose all your kits and have to start from scratch.

Hot damn I’d love to try that setup. Nice find find, John.
