AFAIK you can’t have any ekit as MIDI out of EZD. That’s not what either are for. I’m willing to be put right and learn something.

I am trying to set it up like this…

You’ll see he’s setting up a Roland TD50 and can choose it as the audio interface too. That option isn’t showing for a TD07.

I can’t watch the video yet. I will when I can. You talk about ‘audio MIDI out’ and ‘audio interface’. Audio and MIDI don’t work the same way. Which are you trying do?

Sorry, yes I do. I just want to connect my TD07 to EZDrummer on my Mac and use the TD07 as the audio output (using midi) so I can keep my headphones plugged in to the TD07.

I don’t understand why the TD07 isn’t available as an audio output. It’s not showing up, but apparently should.

    Hi there,

From a quick scan of the TD07 manual it is not an audio interface. So you if you want to use EZDrummer samples played by you on your TD07, you would be monitoring audio via the internal speaker/or headphone attached, to/from your Mac, or you would buy an audio interface.

MIDI data would sent to EZDrummer via a USB cable, configured in EZDrummer (standalone) settings > audio/MIDI

    Thank you.

Just a little confused as the Roland site states it’s ‘a high-quality audio/MIDI interface’ so wondered if I was missing anything.

I guess it’s true in as far as it can send midi data to trigger the drums in EZDrummer, but can’t be used to route audio through via USB.

Then I stand corrected. The device should show as an audio device under settings > output

    I found this on the Roland site, to support what you said;

The TD-07 module is an audio/MIDI recording interface in itself, with the ability to send stereo sound and MIDI data to a Mac or Windows computer via a single USB cable. This lets you record discrete audio and MIDI drum tracks in any DAW, or trigger sounds in software-based drum instruments for studio or live playing.

it does require a driver apparently.

    Hey Martin,

I had the same issue with my TD07 using Ezdrummer 3. Hopped online and saw someone suggested using the TD17 audio midi out, and it worked. Not sure why TD07 isn’t a listed option, but give TD-17 a go and hopefully it works for you.

    Cheers, Monique

I think I am using the preset for the TD17, but still can’t get the TD07 to show as an audio output.

    Hi,

I just want to clarify, the computer is connected to the internet and the proper driver for the TD07 installed.

I found the following info in driver download documentation.
    Cannot select/use the TD-07 device

    Was the driver installed correctly?
The driver may not be installed properly.See the “Cannot install the driver” section.
If you cannot use TD-07 after the driver is installed, reinstall the driver by following the procedure described in the “To reinstall” section.

Could the TD-07 be in use by other software?
Exit all applications that are using the TD-07, and turn the power of the TD-07 off, then on again.
If this does not solve the problem, use the procedure described in “To reinstall” to reinstall the driver.

Is the TD-07 WAVE/MIDI device name displayed?
If the device name is not displayed, exit all applications that are using the TD-07, and turn the power of the TD-07 off, then on again.
If this does not solve the problem, use the procedure described in “To reinstall” to reinstall the driver.

Did the computer enter a Sleep mode while the TD-07 was connected with its power turned on?
If the TD-07 does not work correctly after resuming from Sleep mode, you should exit all applications that use the TD-07, and then turn the power of the TD-07 off and on again.

Was the USB cable disconnected and reconnected while the TD-07 was being used, or was the power of the TD-07 turned off, then on again?
If the USB cable is disconnected and reconnected while the TD-07 is in use, or if the power of the TD-07 is turned off, then on again, it may no longer operate correctly. If this occurs, exit all applications that are using the TD-07, and turn the power of the TD-07 off, then on again.

If the PC is started up while the TD-07 is still connected to the PC with its power turned on, the driver may not be loaded properly and you may not be able to use the TD-07.
In such cases, connect the TD-07 to another USB port or turn on the power of TD-07 after the PC starts up.

    • Make sure that access to the microphone is allowed

    • Click “Privacy & security,” and then click “Microphone.”
    • Turn the “Microphone access” switch to on.
    • Close the “Settings” dialog box.

    Thank you.

So I’ve re-installed and restarted and have found some kind of answer.

You need to set the USB driver on the TD07 to ‘VENDOR’.

However, if you do this, you can set it as an audio device, but it no longer sends midi.

So I guess I can either have it sending midi or as an audio device, but not both.
