    Hi,

I don’t think there are any big differences between the different Roland module Presets. Loading a TD-25 Preset for example, would get you there if not, very near. Any modifications you have to do, you save as your own Preset.

Thanks John. If that’s the case, then why you guys load TD 10, 11, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30 and others? there must be a difference between those. I’ve been doing what you are telling to, for example, adjust the kick drum and rimshot sensitivity, but I’m assuming the default TD-17 preset should avoid those little issues from happening. Right?

The presets are not to do with your trigger settings you mentioned. You still need these set to optimum on the module so you get a full range of midi velocity. SD3 can’t effect how you set up your module. It can however map note numbers which will be the same and the vh10 should be very similar to the vh11 settings in SD3.

the settings are not perfect for other Roland’s. For instance I have filled all the aux ports on my td30 so had to set up my own mapping. They are a starting point.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
