Hi everyone,
New user to SD3 here. I’m having an issue connecting my Roland TD-15 module to my stand alone version of SD3. I’m currently using a macbook pro running MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina) with SSD and 8 gigs of ram.
I can’t seem to get a MIDI connection from the module to the macbook pro. I’ve checked all the settings based on the instructions from Toontracks, and still nothing. I see a “Waiting for MIDI…” text in the bottom left window in the settings window.
What am I missing here? Any help is appreciated
Thanks!
Cody
Hi,
is the MIDI interface visible in the MIDI Device list in Audio/MIDI Setup?
Have you ticked the check box right next to the name?
BR,
John

Hi John, thanks for the reply.
Yes, I see the TD-15 in the window when I click on “Select a midi device…” TD-15 is checked.
Hello, I am Klaus from Germany, so excuse my bad English.
First you should try to find out if the TD15 is sending any midi notes to the Mac. This is easy to do, take Logic (or a Midi Monitor Program) and look what is coming in. If nothing comes in then the problems is between the TD15 and Mac, not in SD3. I think you have a USB-Connection between TD15 and Mac, or?
Klaus
Thanks Klaus.
I just picked up a new 2020 MacBook Pro, and I’m waiting for some new cables to come in. I will try your suggestions when they arrive!
Hi all,
I just purchased SD3 and am having a similar problem. I am running the most recent version of Mac OS — Monterey. I cannot even see the TD-15 in the MIDI Device dialogue box. I know that the driver for the TD-15 is discontinued by Roland, but I thought that SD3 would help. Any suggestions?

Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.2.7
Operating system: macOS Monterey (12)
Roland doesn’t “discontinue” drivers. They just don’t keep releasing newer ones for newer operating systems. Here’s a link to the last one for the TD-15:
I’m experiencing the same issue with my MPC Live 2 and yeas I can see it in Logic under the MIDI tab.
did you guys find a solution to this?
Having a similar issue. SD3 standalone player can be triggered by my Roland TD-12. And for several days, I could trigger SD3 when it was in ProTools, latest version, so everything was fine.
But now, SD3 via ProTools cannot be triggered. I have checked all over every setting.
I’m on Ventura on a new Mac Studio
