Hi gang,
So I plan on doing some recording with my band tonight at our practice space. I practice on a well-weathered Roland TD-10 electric kit. The plan is to record the MIDI from the kit into my DAW (Tascam US-1800 and Reaper), but then later mix the kit with EZ Drummer and the Drum Kit from Hell library. Note, I’ve got the original version of EZ Drummer, v1, not v2.
I realize the note values almost certainly won’t translate from the TD-10 to EZ Drummer, but that’s easy enough to fix. What I’m concerned about is the hit-hat. Is it simply a matter of moving the hi-hat notes to the proper hi-hat line for EZ Drummer so the open and close positions are taken into account, or is there something more that needs to be done?
Any insight appreciated. Thanks!
