OK – difficult to describe, but I”m not getting the rim shot tone I’m getting out of one drum on the stack.
I have 2 drums stacked on center, 2 drums in my rimshot stack. The second drum in my rimshot stack is muted. When I hit the unmuted drum in the stack it sounds great. But when I hit the stack – it sounds different and not good. I don’t know why it sounds different when only the one drum is enabled in the stack. If I remove the second (disabled) drum from the stack – the rimshot stack goes away and it still sounsd bad. Any ideas?

To further illustrate the issue.. here’s the frequency curves for the two different rimshot sounds… so something different must be happening in terms of routing or processing depending on whether you hit stack or the individual when there is only one drum in play.
Hi,
it would be easier to tell what’s going on if you zip the Project file and attach to a post here. Is that possible?

Thanks for the response – I opened a ticket through support so I’ve gone ahead and sent a couple project files and kit presets through that ticket. I will post back any findings. Worth noting, Hit Variation is turned off for the rimshot stack and rimshot drums.
Hi,
We’ve replied to your support ticket now, and we found that clicking on the Rimshot Stack label produces a 127 velocity hit, but when you click on a drum graphic of one of the snares that are part of the stack, a 126 velocity hit is triggered.
We have forwarded this to our development team to investigate if this is intended behaviour of the drum pads in the Drums tab.

confirming… adjusting my hits from 127 to 126 solved it.. Never realized a single point in velocity would make that much difference. Seems to be something about the 127 mark as not much difference between 126, 125, or 124. And oddly the 127 sounds a little bit quieter in my opinion… but good to know why and how those two hits differ and I should be able to adjust my velocities in DAW to get the sounds I was looking for. Thanks for the quick reply!
Thats right!
The 127 (full throttle) sample is often a drastically different sample. Sometimes its nice, other time i wish they would made it a more gradual transition
