so, I’m a proud new owner of Superior Drummer 3 after many years with EZ Drummer 2 and already am blown away by the upgrade. However, and I must say
this is an issue I have with a lot of libraries in general. You begin to use the product in a project and right from the git go you hit a wall that doesn’t make any sense musically and takes days to solve…. So here I go. I’m doing a traditional country song with the Amtrak groove…. fantastic!! I get to the chorus and want to use a ride cymbal …… Well, every ride sample is choked and not sustained. When a drummer plays the ride on a chorus, the symbol hit sustains into the next hit… there’s no muting a ride cymbal in a chorus…. Incredibly simple fact and yet Toontrack sends these presets out with a muted ride and I can’t any way to fix it….. nothing in the manual about sustaining a ride hit…. I just don’t get it…. somebody please offer some help here…. thank you
Only the Mute Hit articulation plays a muted ride. The rest ring out. It sounds like you have either selected the Mute Hit or there is some MIDI CC or MIDI note choking the ride. You need to check your grooves, either in the Grid editor or in your DAW (depending on where your grooves are).
