With the new release of Reaper for Linux, I’ve been working on migrating in that direction. I’ve got EZD2 working fine, soundwise, but I’ve hit a roadblock accessing the MIDI files on my Windows drive.
The first time I opened EZD on Linux, I got a “please locate your EZDrummer library folder” message as expected. I pointed it to what I thought was the correct one, and was then given “MIDI Database Error”. There’s a good chance I just gave it the wrong folder, but I can’t find a way to clear the error message so I can try again.
– EZD is being run under Wine, so it’s living and operating in a pretend Windows environment with access to the usual C:/Users/Me/AppData/Roaming/etcetcetc locations
– I tried renaming/deleting C:/users/Me/ApplicationData/Toontrack/EZDrummer. No change.
Any suggestions are welcome. Cheers.

Edit: Progress! After discovering that Wine provides a registry editor, I found the path setting under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Wow6432Node > Toontrack > Superior > EZDrummer > HomePath
(For any other users, if that path doesn’t work try using RegEdit’s Search function and looking for EZDrummer until you find it)
Setting that to where my MIDI files are located got them to show up in EZD’s Browser, where I can look through and play them.
The Search tab, however, is still stuck on MIDI Database Error, so I’m without my treasured filtering option and Tap-to-Find options.

Edit 2: Victory! Someone pointed out a Toontrack folder I’d overlooked – I wasn’t surprised, since there are at least five of them.
C:/ProgramData/Toontrack/EZdrummer/Database holds midiDB files for all of the installed libraries. After adding a symlink for Wine to access them, EZD is working near-perfectly. (I can’t drag loops out to Reaper, but have a decent workaround).
