You would need to go to your Toontrack account and remove your old computer authorizations for each product. Then, if you are maxed out on your authorizations (4 out of 4 total authorizations) for any products, let us know and we can free up authorization slots.

Hi Scott, I accidentally added too many authorizations, can you help me free them up so I can register my new comp? You can delete them all.

YES , WHY DONT YOU JUST REAUTHORIZE THEM ALL? GETTING AHOLD OF YOU GUYS WHEN SOMEONE HAS A COMPUTER SWAP IS REALLY TOUGH. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAD TO DO THIS, AND I ASKED TO HAVE 2 COMPUTERS DEAUTHORIZED THE LAST TIME , AND THEY ARE STILL THERE, CMON ALREADY, PEOPLE HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN WAIT TO BE ABLE TO CREATE!

Your authorizations were reset on 11/07/2014. You currently have 2 ACTIVE authorizations of your EZdrummer product and one ACTIVE authorization of the DHF EZX. Support can not, and has never been able to, remove ACTIVE authorizations for customers.

You currently have two more authorizations to use. You will, per the licensing agreement, need to DEACTIVATE one of your current authorizations yourself as you can only have two active at one time.

    Hi!

As many users have already mentioned, this authorization issue sometimes may become annoying and frustrating. Of course, I may understand you want to secure your products and prevent piracy this way. By the time you reset the authorizations on customers’ demand, would it be better just to let them free and find another way of protecting your software? I cannot think of a possible solution, but I also think this authorization system doesn’t prevent piracy (if that is the point).

Correct me if I am wrong to anything, I am just a music composer-to-be who buys all of his software, I support every software creator and I don’t like to lose time at such procedures.

Thank you for your magnificent software. I am not a drummer, I don’t have a real one to play with me and EZ Drummer combined with Superior Drummer (I own Superior with some SDXs, but I have a lot of EZXs, too and I will buy EZD 2) and these “suites” really help me write some nice tunes.

I hope you find a different and more easy way to handle our installations.

    Vasilis.

Absolutely computers crash and I am always upgrading , and I was under the impression I could have 4 active computers with ez drummer , this isn’t the case ? Because I can only seen to authorize 2 at a time , and I use 5 different computers in my setup, I like to write drum tracks in my living room and studio, and whenever I get time ,

Thank you for clearing my inactives , please clarify how many computers total can I have ez drummer on? And if I upgrade to ez2 will I have to re authorize all computers or what if I don’t upgrade them all ? Or will I have too? Thanks

Please see the link to the FAQ in my post above. You are allowed 2 computers to be authorized at one time per the licensing agreement. If you need more, you would have to purchase more licenses.

The upgrade will be a new product. You will be able to install it on two computers at the same time with four total authorizations, per the licensing agreement. The same as any single product.

You can have EZD 1 on two computers and EZD 2 on two computers. But, any single EZX library (license) can only reside on two computers at the same time. So, you couldn’t have your DFH EZX on four computers at one time.

Thanks Scott, I was thinking if I upgraded It would basically wipe out ez1 , but that sounds perfect , my laptop works well with ez1 and cubase , and I got the trial version of ez2 on my living room computer right now, with the stand alone setup, seems very cool! So I could write the basic song on that computer , which actually the sounds in ez2 are awesome, I don’t think I’d need dfh in that computer, but if I wrote a drum track in ez2 , and then transferred the midi file to ez1, is it adaptable ? Or will everything change ?will ez1 dfh play the midi file from ez2? I just like the midi programming in my cubase 3 better than 6 it’s easier to use for modifying drum hits, but I do really like the new ez2 , it’s really easy and the drum tracks are more creative than in the first, I’ve not tried superior drummer, how much different is it? Thanks again Scott

Yes. You can create MIDI in EZD 2 and use it with EZD 1 in Cubase on a different computer (and vise versa). The EZdrummer/S2 MIDI mapping is what we call GM Extended. It fits general MIDI mapping with some extra Toontrack specific articulation mapping (mostly with hi hats).

I find S2 to kinda be the big brother of EZdrummer. It has more tweaking controls (bleed edits, built in effects) and more samples and sample layers. S2 is also much easier to integrate into an edrum setup. I do end up using both EZD 2 and S2. I can use the EZD 2 MIDI Out feature to build my drum track using the EZD 2 MIDI Search, Play Edit, and composition tools and output to my S2 sound libraries. Works well for me.

Hey Scott I just opened Garageband and went to use EZDrummer and it’s telling me I’m not authorised to use it on this computer and I need an authorisation code but when I try to go to http://www.ezdrummer.com/register that page won’t open, so I can’t go through the process of getting a code – help !
    Thanks Jeff
