I’ve had to replace my newly installed hard drive (due to a fault) but none of my products are demanding re-authorisation. I know that my computer id has changed because I have just installed ezplayer and the computer id it generated is different to the others. My concern is that the existing products will demand re-authorisation at an inconvenient time (it’s happened during band rehearsal at church, rendering exdrummer useless until I could get home) so I want to force the issue at my convenience but I don’t know how.
Hi,
a HD change should not trigger the auth process AFAIK. A Network Interface Controller being Enabled or Disabled has been the most usual culprit in sudden Computer ID changes.
It would never happen out of the blue while playing. Something needs to be changed that causes the Windows Hardware Configuration list to shuffle and if you’re busy playing, that wouldn’t happen, right?

Well, actually it can, nowadays, but as long as everything else
keeps the same it needn’t. Changing both HD and network
card would be very likely to retrigger authorization.
