Replace MIDI in EZD3 is nothing more than copying/pasting groove parts which has long been available in SD3.

Well, it’s way easier and faster with replace midi… and you can audition multiple different grooves and at any time cancel to go back to your original groove… But guess I’ll have to wait until Superior Drummer 4… Or use EZDrummer 3, but then I can’t use the SDXs…

How much faster is it to drag the part on to your MIDI region? All replace MIDI does is open the groove parts section.

    Quite a lot faster actually.

Not really. It’s a similar process with a different name.

This looks to be a feature I would enjoy also. Ignore the other guy, he just seems to instigate devil’s advocate wherever possible on this forum.

Considering that I use it all the time, I don’t think so. Have you tried it or are you just posting for its own sake?

Use what all the time? What are you on about? He mentioned a feature that isn’t on SD3, I watched your video link and I agree that I would like that. It looks to be a quality of life feature over dragging and dropping

Replace MIDI is basically SD3’s Groove Parts. There are a number of workflows to groove parts in SD3. The video shows only one. Groove parts allows you to change all or part of a groove by dragging the part on to the groove. Again, have you tried it?

Dude just accept that people have different preferences to other workflows. You and another member of this forum make it unappealing to post here because of how you interact with questions, suggestions or viewpoints. I’d rather leave at that and stop with the replies. Peace out hombre ✌️

    I wouldn’t talk… read your own words:

If you want to be a troll, I will be more than happy to treat you like one.

Thank for demonstrating that you haven’t really used it. You have proven that you don’t really have a point and your only recourse is a personal attack.

Perhaps if you understood that I use it regularly to create various types of polyrhythms not available in the standard groove packs, then perhaps you might need to realize just how quickly I need to set up an entire song with it. So yes, speed and ease of use is crucial.

Perhaps you should stick to the facts next time.

    Now, back to Replace MIDI…

While it is just a couple of button clicks instead of a click and a drag using Groove Parts (both take the same number of steps, so there’s no cumbersome workflow here with no loss of speed), here’s what I don’t like about it: it’s all or nothing with the region. Perhaps if TT found a way to make it a bit more “superior” then perhaps it would have some use to some. However, I am not losing any functionality without it, since Groove Parts allows me to drag the same thing to part of a region which is handy when you want  a little fill at the end but don’t want to trample the entire region.
