I agree that additional added instruments should be able to be renamed so that when in the grid editor you know what instrument you are modifying easier.

I use X-drums a lot and in some of my user kits I have up to 15 of these as have 39 triggers on my e-kit. It is a bit of a pain in bleeds, mic routing etc when I can only see “instrument 1” as an example – much worse with 15 and often different instruments.

Can we get this feature added to be able to rename them to something more intuitive and meaningful please as it was mentioned some time ago. Thanks, Andrew

I suspect this thread is no longer being monitored and perhaps should be started again elsewhere, to draw attention to the issue.

One can rename the mixer channel from ‘x drum whatever’ to whatever you want. Can’t change the name in the grid editor though. Or the name in the kit view. Working in the latest revision of SD3. Strange they only went to a partial solution on changing names.

Thanks for the response – much appreciated. I know about mixer channels so these are all renamed and not an issue. My issues are in grid editor, mic routing (drum tab) and close mics and mic bleeds (mixer tab) where the “Instrument 1” nomenclature remains so when I have 15 of these, it is a pain to understand which is which in these scenarios. Hopefully Toontrack will take note to make it easier.

I agree with this idea and had the same issue. When you have a ton of instruments on the side panel, it would be nice if they were able to be labeled so you know what you are looking it right away.
