I open EZ Bass stand alone… Go to Audio tracker and click record. set my input device (RME Babyface Pro analog 3) and tempo, hit play/record and it shows red like its recording but nothing is recorded. What am I doing wrong?
Hey jbis,
Could it be that the input level on the audio interface is set too low or is muted somehow? Is the input meter showing anything when you play on your instrument?

Yeah, everything is set properly. It’s the only piece of software I have that’s not taking input. I can work around by using it within my DAW and using the plugin but would be nice to have this working in standalone.

This is important to know for us, since if it’s not registering any input audio in EZbass there’s a problem before EZbass in the audio chain somewhere…

Which input meter are you referring to? The meter on my device is obviously showing activity but I don’t see one in EZ Bass?
edit: If you are referring to the little slider on the bottom right, there is no activity when I play… only activity if the metronome is on.
I second what jbis is describing. Unlike his RME, I am using my AXE-FX III (latest USB driver version, latest firmware) as interface (fixed to 24bit 48kHz). I know exactly what inputs and outputs I have to select because I use the unit with a large number of other standalone applications (see attached example of one of my standalone guitar amp sim applications). The setting you see in the screenshot works with ALL other standalone applications I have but when I activate those in/out channels in EZbzss it still doesn’t record audio. I can easily name you 1/2 dozen applications where that setting does work.
Where is the input meter located on the EZbass window? As this specific section in the online manual is still empty (“8. THE AUDIO TRACKER TAB
This chapter is currently being edited and will be published soon.”) I couldn’t see where I am supposed to be looking. I certainly can’t see any moving bars on the screen when I send guitar or bass signal.
Let me know if you require any further info.
Thanks
I’m having a similar issue trying to record into EZ Bass through my Apollo Thunderbolt interface.
All of the inputs are set correctly. I can see signal coming in to the UA Console channel and hear audio coming out of my monitors.
The only thing that isn’t happening is the sound being recorded in EZ Bass…
I’m open to sugguestions.
Thanks!

We have discovered and fixed a bug with the standalone in combination with certain audio interfaces. This will be included in a coming update, after 1.0.3!
In the meantime as a workaround – record into the tracker in a DAW (using the Toontrack Audio Sender plug-in) instead.

I just bought this, and can’t get audio record to work either.

Thanks for the report. The 1.0.4 will be released ASAP!

Hi similar issues when I try and connect lexicon alpha using ASIO to record my guitar to create bass lines (system just cant seem to connect that way – not sure if it should be able to but would be nice!)
also – when I do try and do this, it then disconnects from the audio engine for some reason meaning I cant hear anything else, requiring a complete reboot..
also – when I try and drag an audio file from cakewalk straight into the audio tracker, it does create a load of events (just like the video) but again gets all upset and disconnects the audio engine, again requiring a reboot to hear anything else..
minor bugs to add to the list.. looking good though!
cheers
1.0.4 same as my 1.0.3 post above…
Hi Shawn,
can you please elaborate; which Input are you using on the Babyface Pro, is the same Input set in the Audio/MIDI setup in EZbass, can you record when loaded as a plug-in in a DAW with the Audio Sender, etc?

John

I can report that the update has fixed the issue with my Apollo Thunderbolt setup.
Thanks Toontrack!

[Update on my post below]:
After forcing different driver settings onto EZbass and then switching back to my I/O settings as described below it is now working!!
I have no idea what it was … maybe I should have restarted my PC after the update (?). However, I can confirm that it is now working and reacting exactly how I was expecting it to.
Please disregard my description below. Maybe a system restart would have solved my issue after the update (?)

Just upgraded to version 1.0.4.
EZbass is still not recording audio from my AXE-FX III when in standalone mode.
I used the exact same I/O settings in my DAW (Studio One 4.6 – Input: “In 5” [Clean DI signal from the Guitar/Bass] | Output: Out Block 1, L&R]) and with the Audio Sender activated on an audio track recording into EXbass and transforming the recorded audio into MIDI does work without issues.
Seems like EZbass is still struggling with some ASIO drivers? I have the latest Axe-Fx III drivers installed, just note that the settings of the unit are fixed to 24bit/48kHZ (bit-depth and resolution locked to those settings by the manufacturer). Could that be a reason for EZbass not finding “usable” audio? (As mentioned in my first post, the Axe-Fx III works fine as an audio interface for both DAWs that I use [Cubase 10.5, Studio One 4.6] and for at least half a dozen standalone guitar/bass amp sims from Neural DSP, Mercuriall, etc.)
It would be much appreciated if you could fix that as I would love to use it to just gather new ideas without having to start the entire DAW every time.
Thanks!
