Recording in Tap2Find or the Song Track. How to incorporate triples.

When recording a beat using Tap2Find or in the Song Track, is it possible to incorporate triplets  over a straight beat?

A perfect example would be this. Record 1/8th notes on the hi hat. Have an 1/8th Triplet tom fill at end of the measure. Something like this is very common. Is it possible to record this solely with the EZ Drummer 2 program? Or even edit it in EZ Drummer 2 to make it work. My conclusion is 1/8th notes and 1/8th note triplets can’t exist at the same time when recording into easy drummer using quantize. And quantize is really essential. I’d appreciate any corrections if I’m wrong. Thanks for your time!

Hi,

you can set the Quantize to triplets in the Tap2Find window but you cannot have 2 different Quantize values.

If you record to the Song Track, you can first record one pattern with e.g. Kick, Snare and HH and Quantize straight, next record a pattern with just the Toms and use the Triplet Quantize. You should then be able to copy the pattern with just your Toms and paste onto the other pattern. Cut the pattern where you paste as long as the one you copied, to make sure the Toms end up in the right place.
