Recommended velocities?

What are the recommended velocities for metal and rock bass? I don’t have wild tremolo picking, but just half as fast when the guitar plays tremolo parts (black metal style). Should you use high velocities such as 120 or around 100? What’s best?

Velocity doesn’t have anything to do with speed of picking, if that’s what you’re trying to control. Velocity has to do with how hard the string is struck by the finger or pick.
