Hi guys, I’ve been a long time EZDrummer and EZKeys user and just upgraded to SD3. When I heard about “Superior September” I was really hoping that all of the SDX expansions would be on sale but that wasn’t to be.
I am waiting patiently to see what the new Eddie Kramer set contains: I’m excited to see images of Timpani and Tam-tam’s in the promo material as well as one of the music industry legends take on rock drum sounds but I was really hoping to snag a copy of the Decades or Rooms of Hansa packs in the sale to add more balanced drum sounds to the Core SD3 library and the two EZX packs I have (Metalheads and Progressive) hence this post…
Are any of the SDX currently on sale “Must Have’s” for a new users who already have Metal sounds covered (Roots, Independent, NY Studios?) or are the reviews of Rooms, Decades and D&D all correct and these are the ones worth saving up for / waiting for a sale when they are included?
Any advice very much appreciated
James

How does the Rock Foundry compare to D&D guys?
This will all depend on your genre of music. They are both fabulous SDXs made by different producers. For me, personally, Bob Rock fits more of the music that I work with. In many cases, it is an instant fit. However YMMV.

Thanks that makes sense.
It most explains why the Legacy of Rock is going to fit in perfectly with me. I have been listening to the kit demos all morning and could hear Bonzo and Mitch Mitchell come alive in them. It was very well done, which is really no surprise.

The Amber kit is very cool 🙂
I would like to add that snares and kicks ez is a great add-on. Gives all your kits more custom options. It’s great.

Thanked by: JamesThat’s a good should Digital – but will have to wait until I’ve worked through the Legends of Rock SDX which is going to finish downloading tonight
I might have to break the bank for this SDX. I’ve had to restrain myself holding off on the others, but this one might be worth feeling the pinch.

After watching Mike Luke’s review of it, and then some of the video’s of Norman playing and Eddie talking about it how they mike’d it up I was already coming up with new riffs which would fit the drums – had to stream Led Zep on Spotify this afternoon to make sure I wasn’t stealing any of Jimmy’s but I think I’ll be okay…
Meh! Everything in rock and roll is “borrowed“ 😀
Not my B minor diminished hexatonic run supported by timpani splashes and cowbell – surely?
Superior Drummer 3 version 3.2 obviously as LOR wouldn’t install on the old one.

If you would have used the augmented run rather than the diminished, you might have been original. 😀
Downloading For now… looks like it is going to be a while.
