bpjacobsenIt seems like the majority of the presets have a lot of reverb or ambience. I really prefer a tighter less echo is sound. To me it sounds over processed in some Cases. I was trying to play around with the mixers on one of the kits yesterday
And while I was able to sort to get the snare sounding more like what I wait. Seems like I couldn’t get the Tom’s to all sound the same. It was like the first 2 were OK. ,but then the one had, like hardly anything. I think I need a crash course in how to get these consistent Cut out Some of the ambience or reverb i’m just not understandi have the mixture is work. It seems like no matter what I do I can’t get everything to work right. I just want a more clean tight sound. I guess I’m so used to not having to mess with it a whole lot in the strike module. But I know the sounds will be much better than the strike when I get this right Because I got a taste of it when I was messing around. I just can’t get them all consistent. It’s like I move a slider one way while the snare might sound good, it messes up something else.

Choose the default kits and then change how you want them. That’s what I do as these do t have effects on them.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

I know I can change them, but even after messing around, I could not figure out how to get the drums to be consistent. was like 2 tom were good then another had hardly any sound. but I could not understand how to just take out the echo/ambience for the whole kit. Is there a one and done slider or switch for that? I don’t want every kit to sound like it’s being played in a theatre or something. I’m more about the tight, studio sound without all the reverb etc. like it’s in a sound proof room.

JohnCheck the mixer for any Reverb Bus and Mute. Also check for ‘Amb’ microphones and Mute them.
If this still isn’t damped enough, try selecting several Mixer channels, e.g. the Toms or OH, and ‘Disable Bleed from All Instruments’.
