I would recommend uninstalling EZdrummer and installing from either the downloadable version from your Toontrack account or from your original disc. Then try the update.

hi i’ve got a similar problem
the problem is that i get same response if i try to uninstall or repair
noticed when i tried to update to 1.16 and have been trying for about a month or so
have looked though the registry but cant find anything there
the installer either looks for the msi package at “1” – no path just “1”, or if i take the msi from the cd i get the above response
can it be somehing with MS installer?
    best regards

Make sure you have the most up-to-date Windows Installer.

Version 4.5, available here (please check carefully that you download the correct package):

Then uninstall EZdrummer and reinstall from the download version available from your Toontrack account.

well, this is not for the fainthearted but here is what Microsoft recommends to troubleshoot Windows Installer Service issues:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315346

… this may avoid you having to reinstall your OS from scratch, but ultimately this might not be such a bad thing to do.

On a sidenote, we know very little about your system, I know you are running Windows XP, but as to what service pack I would have to ask my crystal ball (I am very old school with divination, although I like tarot as well).

    fainthearted i’m not
i just dont want to reinstall my OS just right now
but it might be the best option after all
i was thinking of doing it during christmas but…

Were you able t solve this issue?
If yes, what did the trick?

I have the same problme with installing the Cocktail EZX update, and I am not willing to re-install my OS just because of this, so any other solution would be great!
