Hello, my first impressions using the stand alone version is that it is not as EZ as expected.
The manual is underwhelming and it is largely a case of trial and error to find out how things work.
Are there any quick keys? I got space for start/stop. How’s about W or something for rewind to beginning? Having to click on the stop button is not intuitive and annoying.
Trial and error also found how to close the chord selector – right click on chord name. Otherwise it just sits there obscuring the proceedings until you click somewhere else in a blank part of the gui.
A couple of bugs: 1)load a midi clip from the browser into the song track, chop into sections and change the chords to get something like your target song. Then if you want to copy some consecutive sections to get a repeat, you can select the consecutive sections and control drag them to later in the track. All well and good except if, say, you copied a sequence of a section of C followed by a section of F, and a section of G, then what you end up with is three sections of C.
2) Sometimes the chord selector gives you a wrong chord. I have started with a boogie 12 bar from the browser and changed the chords to fit my song and the resultant chords have been wrong, not just a different inversion but the wrong chord. This has happened twice to me so far so it’s not just a one off blip.
Feature request:
I would like to be able to set a chord sequence into the blank song track and have any midi clips dragged from the browser follow the chords in the song track. Ie you choose a style of playing from the browser, like in BIAB except more intuitive than BIAB.
That would justify the name EZ.
cheers
Cliff
Well, the drag and drop copy bug is intermittent and not happening now – maybe I had a bad day…
Any news on quick keys? How about a keyboard key to change mouse pointer behaviour between select and scissor tools?

How about shft click, alt click, or ctrl click to swap between select and scissors tools, then?

Right-click (or control-click on Mac) will open a menu where you can choose between the tools
