Hi Toontrack Team,
I’m a EZDrummer/DFH User for a while now and have read about Beatstation which sounds really interesting to me!
Before buying I have a few questions that are not answered from the Beatstation Homepage:
1. Is it possible to use a Midi Controller (e.g. Nano Pad or E-Drums via Midi) to control the pads of beatstation “live”?
2. Can the pads be routed to Multiple-Outputs like in EZDrummer?
And last question: Why is the Download 40 Euros more expensive than the box? I tried to buy the download – but 129 Euros???
Hope you can help me – can’t wait to check Beatstation out!

Hi,
only the close mics are available with SDX:s or EZX:s in Beatstation. No ambience. Also, a snare that has say, three channels in the Superior mixer, would just be one snare in Beatstation, mixed together.

Is it true that Beatstation does NOT have multiple outputs? In other words, in Cubase for example, ALL the pads are sent to a main stereo L&R out, with no ability to split the channels for individual processing?
Thanks….

yes, the point of beatstation is in great part the processing possibilities built into it. It also is heavily designed to create custom ‘scenes’ (or pad layouts using our terminology) with little efforts, so if you really require external processing then there is always the option of loading multiple instances and route MIDI to them as appropriate.

Of course, it’s a good thing to have built in processing, but I cannot help thinking that having to run “multiple instances” is a less than elegant solution to a simple problem. SD2 has comprehensive built in processing, but that didn’t stop you from allowing multiple outputs for the user to decide on his/her processing needs.
The prospect of being able to layer my Toontrack libraries with my other drum samples is an exciting proposition, but this excitement is tempered by the lack of multiple outs.
I’ll have to consider this some more before deciding on my purchase.
Thanks for your response to my question.

Is there any way to get the Euro price from America? 89 Euros is 109 dollars, not 129.

Hi,
the price is correct now in the shop! – didn’t see the “Country/Currency” selector at the bottom – and as the homepage said 89 Euros, I thought everything was right…
One last question before I hit the “Buy” Button:
After Downloading: Will I be able to register Beatstation twice (One for my Mac, one for my Netbook on the go) like this is possible with Ezdrummer?
Thanks again!
Hi Toontrack,
I´m an EZdrummer user. Is it possible to drag+drop 24 midipatterns
from that libraries to the beatstation pads and play them via midikeyboard live? If that works where can I choose a Drumkit for the midis?
@zimmerxyz:
You do not trigger MIDI grooves from the keyboard. You can trigger sounds -stacked, sampled, processed and whatnot- and REX loops.

So, just to be clear, the only rhythm patterns available are those already loaded in the product; you can’t record your own unique patterns?
But you could create a new pattern within your DAW and make it play BeatStation with a custom pattern?
I noticed a slot for “user patterns” how is this utilized?
Looks like a great product, but I would have to be able to program custom patterns to be a buyer.
Thanks!

@Michael Blue:
You can use the included MIDI patterns, other Toontrack products’ MIDI, your own or 3rd party MIDI patterns.
You can create your own in your DAW and export them to your own user MIDI folder.
Most of the User folders in BTS are accessed via drag-and-drop.
Best Regards,
John

Quick question: can Beatstation samples be assigned to triggers in Toontrack Solo?
