QUESTION: If I only install the “default” setup, does SD3 delete unused?

Hello,

If I choose one of the minimum installs for an SDX, do the unused samples get deleted or are they still on my system?  I’m asking because when I download an SDX, it downloads the entire massive sample pool.  Does part of that sample pool get deleted if I don’t do the full install?  Thanks for the help

So have  you downloaded all the installs? Why? Just delete from the download manager if you don’t want to install thrm.

I’m downloading Area 33 right now and it is downloading 185 gb.  When I press install and choose “Minimal Mic Setup” which is 37.57 gb, does it delete the rest that it just downloaded? I can’t choose how much to install until after it has downloaded everything.

Once you install you can click on clean up and it should then delete downloads. Try it and then go to the download location and see if it’s gone.

I think he’s talking about doing a minimal install and not necessarily doing the cleanup like you mention. I know that with SD3 you only have to download/install the modules you want.

Hi,

the Area 33 SDX installer is not divided into sections, so yes; you download the full installer package, install the Minimal, then ‘Clean Up’ in the Product Manager afterwards.
This way you do not have any “unused” files left, with the caveat that if you wish to modify the Install of the SDX in question, you need to download the installer package again.
