I have EZD2 and now SD3 as well. I have project with tracks, mixer settings, output configurations created in EZD 2.
I would like to transfer complete EZD2 configurations into SD3 and continue working on the projects with the new features of SD3.
I want to keep the references to the libraries for the different groove parts.
Is there any import / export function in EZD2 and SD3 to do this ? I think, this direction should work because SD3 has all the functionality of EZD2 (and much more)
greetings
Nils
Hi,
as of now, you can’t open or import EZdrummer 2 Projects in SD3 nor does SD3 read the EZdrummer 2 User Presets.
It has been requested earlier so it is most likely noted on the feature request list.
MIDI created on the EZdrummer 2 Song Track can simply be exported and then Imported to the SD3 Song Track.

It would be much appreciated if this was possible. Hopefully it can be included in a future update
I also own EZD 2 and SD3 and would like to import my EZD 2 projects into SD3.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!
Long time since this has been asked and I think, it‘s a valid user requirement.
Any news when it might be implemented. Seems to be not too much work for your developers.
You have all informations about the data structures at hand and EZD projects should be a subset for SD because of the extended capabilities of SD
I currently have a project to mix from a friend and I would like this feature too, kind of ridiculous in my opinion that it’s not possible, to a certain extent, to at least open the basic features of a project file from EZ2 in SD3
Are you F–king kidding about this?
Why the F–K can’t I open EZDrummer 2 files in SD3?
WHEN WILL THIS PROBLEM BE FIXED???????
???????????
FAIL
I bought both EZD3 and SD3 a few months ago, and was emailing ToonTrack to find out if the new EZD3 feature called Bandmate was in SD3. They said no, but you can use Bandmate in EZD3, and then open that project in SD3, just like everyone here is asking for. Now that I have finally learned both, I cannot figure out how to open the EZD3 project in SD3. Please help. It is now Sept 2023.
SOLVED: (for Windows anyways)
Sorry I’ve never seen this post or I would’ve been able to answer you Guys since it started…
All you have to do is save the user preset in any .EZDP or .EZD3P to .SD3P and then copy it over to the Superior 3 folder in Documents and do a rescan. Go to USER preset in the mixer session and call it up.
I’ve been doing this since SD3 came out and I’ve owned EZD1 upgraded to EZD2 and also bought EZD3 for it’s options, then open them up in SD3 because they sound much better there…
Hope that makes sense, Jeff
