    Hi,

so if you load the User Drums and Mixer Preset, then Save it as a Project, close SD3 and then open the Project file, it doesn’t open as expected?

That is correct John and it happens whether I open another project within SD3 or after I fully close and reopen SD3.

It is even happening to my default project when I start up so for some reason the the multi output mixer levels are not being saved in the project (or not being recalled correctly).

Is there anything else you want me to supply or show to demonstrate ?

And am I correct in my assumption that a project should save all drum, mixer, bus and output settings ? Thanks Andrew

Hi John (or others at Toontrack),

Have you had a chance to look at this ?

I originally thought it was just affecting the multi channel outputs however you can see in my original screenshots that it also affecting buses and these are also not saved when I save a project. Does it mean that a Project does not save any bus or output channel mixer settings when the Manual states under 9.1 that it saves “Mixer Settings (including all effect settings and levels)” ?

And if not I suggest that this should be stated more clearly in the manual under 9.1 – or even better, can it be fixed to include buses and multi outputs ?

    Thanks Andrew

Can you upload your project here to the forums so we can see if we experience the same problem?

    Hi,

you are correct in assuming that the entire state of the plug-in should be saved with a Project save.

I am pretty sure this strange behaviour is connected to your output macros. There is a bug where when a project is loaded, parameters (macro controls) would get reapplied, potentially changing properties bound to the macros. This will be fixed in the next update.

    Hi John and Toontrack Team,

I have just updated to 3.3.4 and have noticed a change in my User kits (and Project Settings) that I had saved. As part of these I had rearranged the order of Mic Channels (and User Mic’s) and also the order of Buses and Outputs in my user kits.

I have just attempted to load these after the update and all rearranged channels have gone back to where they were before I made any changes – looks like the original order before I rearranged and changed after the recent update that allowed rearranging channel order. This is a major pain as I now have to change over 40 of my user kits and rearrange the channel again. It happens whether I load via saved projects or via accessing my user kits separately.

Is this a result of the update 3.3.4 and if so is there any fix to return to what I had saved. Hope you guys can check this out quickly.

    cheers, Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

unfortunately it seems like saving a Project with SD3.3.3 and opening it with SD3.3.4 resets the order of the channels. The coders are aware and looking into it.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    BR,
    John

    Hi John,

Thanks for the response and you can understand that this is very inconvenient for me as I have lost my saved channel orders in all of my user kits (and I have lots).

Is there going to be a fix and is it likely to be soon or will I have to go in and rearrange everything and resave in 3.3.4 ?

    Thanks, Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

my best advise right now is to not re-save all your projects/presets. Most likely a fix will make sure you can load your saved projects/presets with the correct mixer channel order regardless if they are saved with 3.3.3 or 3.3.4 but I can’t confirm this, simply because I don’t know yet.

Version 3.3.5 is out now and it should be able to correctly load the channel order from both 3.3.3 projects and 3.3.4 projects.

Thanks for the update. I have some good news and some bad news.

Good news is channel orders are retained with both 3.3.3 user kits I had as well as with 3.3.4 user kits so this has worked.

Unfortunately I have a major issue in that when I make an update and go to save the preset I cannot do this – see error message. See attached screenshots. First is a complicated user kit – it is in Hitmaker and user Toms and Kick from FOR Stone (Sonor kit) – it was saved in 3.3.4.  I was however able to use “save as” and give it another name.

Second example is all within Hitmaker but same issue with saving the preset – and same error message. This was originally saved in 3.3.3 and again I could use “save as” and give it a different name.

Please check this urgently as major issue for me. Thanks , Andrew

Strange, I don’t think anything has changed recently that would suddenly make it impossible to re-save a preset. Can you save the new presets again or do you need to use Save As every time?

    Hi Olof,

I have been investigating a bit more.

If I try and save 3.3.3 or 3.3.4 user kits it doesn’t work so my only option is save as (with new name). I get the same error message when I try just the save option

Once I have saved in 3.3.5 however the save option does then work if I want to do further changes. It seems that save works for 3.3.5 user kits but not for 3.3.3 or 3.3.4 user kits.

Hope this helps you to work out what has happened. cheers, Andrew
