I would like to know the answer to this question also! I haven’t been able to figure it out. I have tried using the Latin Percussion EZX, which I thought would let me assign cowbells to anything, but it doesn’t seem to work that way.

    Me too!

I’d like to map a cowbell to a spare tom on my Simmons Titan 50.

    There’s gotta be a way.

Mapping any kit piece is done by opening E-Drums/MIDI In (as shown) and either entering the MIDI note or learning the note.

However, as mentioned by TT, it is not wholly advisable to map future hit instruments as the won’t play as expected. You are better off to map a non future hit cowbell as shown. There are often more articulations you can map as well.

    Jord,

I’m triggering this on an e-drum kit that has no cowbell.

How can I map another piece of hardware to play the cowbell sound on demand without having to resort to software “hits”.  I have drumsticks in my hands and I want to use them to trigger the cowbell during a “live” performance. I’m not just piecing together tracks. I’m playing them.

    Thanks!

If you look at Jord’s screen print you will see a “learn” button. Select “Learn” > hit the kit piece you want to trigger a cowbell, save the preset as a User preset, so you can recall it.
