Hello. Is there a way to line up the audio in Logic with the superior drummer grid editor? I would like to be able to cue the audio (guitar tracks, keyboard tracks) when I’m programming within superior drummer, so that I don’t have to use Logic’s midi editor. Can I drag a guitar audio track and Import it into SD3, so that I have my guitars as a guide while I program? I’m confused by the “Follow host” function, as I have to click back into Logic’s track header when I want to hear audio from a certain spot. I’m trying to use the track header within SD3’s grid editor, so I can program in alignment with my audio. It seems that I’m missing something very simple. I hope this makes sense! Thank you for your help.
You can’t drag audio files to the song track of Superior Drummer 3.
When you use the Song Track in Superior Drummer 3, Logic’s timeline won’t follow that (plugins can’t tell Logic where to put it’s time bar).
So it like you said – you should use the time bar in Logic to set the start point for the playback, and have SD3 in Follow Host mode so it plays along with Logic.
I often set up a loop point in Logic to the place where I want to edit, and in combination with using keyboard shortcuts for moving the time header (the keys of the num pad for example), it works pretty smoothly!
