if you have dropped a groove on the Instrument Track and want to add a Cymbal, you either:
1) Record-arm the Instrument Track and use a MIDI controller, like a keyboard, to record the Cymbal hits.
2) Change the Instrument Track view to ‘Notes’ and use the Pencil Tool to manually add Cymbal hits on the ‘Piano Roll’. Preferably while in ‘Grid’ Mode set to 8th/16th notes.
I have been using ez drummer for a little while now, own it’s own with ezplayer, and just got Pro Tools LE8, on my Pc. I got ezdrummer installed correctly finally, and I want to use the usb midi controller i have (akaiLPD8). But I cannot use it. When I go to the MIDI SETUP, It doesn’t allow my to access the usb port. Did I install Ezdrummer wrong. I am getting nowhere on the Pro tools forum. Please, any ideas at all will be appreciated.
I know it can be done, i’ve seen it on someone elses screen shot.
Are you saying you can’t get the MIDI controller to work with Pro Tools at all?
Have you checked if there are any drivers for you to download on the AKAI site?
That I have not done, because when I bought the akai, it came with a disk to install it on your system. I figured that would do the trick, but I will check to make sure. Thanks for the idea, and let me know if you think of something else.
