Hey Yall!
I am using Ableton 11, I have SD3 as a plug in on a midi track… I am NOT programming midi on the ableton piano roll, I am in the grid editor in the SD3 plug in.
So, I’m programming to the SD3 grid and I’ll have straight 1/4 notes on the closed pedal and it will play as a closed pedal that OPENS after the transient… I don’t have ANY other programmed hats on the grid, only closed, but I can see that blue dot light up next to CLOSED and OPEN both, even tho there are ONLY closed notes programmed… No external piano roll, I’m only using the grid editor…
This has just happened today as well where I programmed 8th notes with the first hit being Tight edge, and the second being tight tip, back and forth playing 8th notes, in Verse one of a song… I copy and pasted it over to verse two, and now it’s randomly activating open tip 1-4, with the blue dot lighting up all 4 at once… Even tho I ONLY programmed the tight options…
This is about as frustrating as things can get, lol…
Why is this and how do I fix it?
My guess is you have hit variation and to use adjacent layers enabled on the hi- hat instrument?

Hi,
check that you do not have any CC 1/4 data either being sent from a connected controller (I have seen examples of a broken mod wheel causing this) or that you have CC data on the SD3 track.
To check if there is CC data on the Track, click the lane selector (normally set to Velocity) and select CC1 and/or CC4.

You can disable the curve manually which is just to the left of the CC4 information.

Hi Bryan, yes that’s exactly right, I am manually programming on the SD3 grid. It must be coming from an external USB controller as a fluke, I guess… Honestly, it doesn’t make much sense to me, but oh well, it’s figured out! Thanks again, man!
