Product Manger didn’t show all installed instruments correctly

Hi,

I’ve recently installed the Product Manger. At that time all my Toontrack instruments which are Keys, Drums, Bass and Mixer were already installed.

Now I am facing the problem that Keys, Drums and Bass are not fully recognized by Product Manger, because I’ve installed the Sound Libraries in a separate partition. Also my 4 EZKeys Midi were not recognized.

First, I would like to ask how to tell the Product Manger where to find my Sound Libraries in order to show the Toontrack instruments installed correctly?

I very recently moved all of my EZ libraries (EZKeys, EZBass & EZDrummer2) to an external drive.
EZDrummer2 & EZBass were recognized by the Product Manager simply by browsing to the new library location within the product itself when prompted. (I had to move them first & delete them from the old location.)

Following the same procedure within EZKeys did not seem to affect the same response.
My solution was to download and install one of my previously installed EZKeys libraries
(even though I had already installed & moved it to the new location).

This effectively seemed to affect the change for ALL of my other EZKeys library expansions & MIDI expansions.

Unfortunately your first idea doesn’t help. I relocated the SoundLibrary of EZBass. Then I was asked within the programm to browse to the new library location as expected. Unfortunately, even after a restart, the Program Manager still cannot find the SoundLibrary and continues to show it as not installed.

I will stay on it.

If you mean EZkeys, there’s a bug in version 1.3.2 that it doesn’t correctly save the new sound path when you browse for it. One workaround is to install an earlier version of the EZkeys software and use it to relocate the libraries.

Another way is to clear the sound path from the registry so that the next library installation lets you set the path. This Command Prompt command clears the path:

reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Toontrack\EZkeys /v SoundPath /f

Main issue is that the Program Manager is not able to locate the sound libraries from EZBass, EZDrums and EZKeys on my Laptop even that they are there and my VSTs are working properly in my DAW.

I assume the reason is that they are not located in the original directory and/or when the Program Manager has been installed after all of the Toontrack instruments.

No idea why he can’t have a look into the Registry in order to find the correct path.

What DAW are you using? Can the standalones find the sound libraries?

I’m using Cakewalk by Bandlab. No, the standalones are interestingly not able to find the sound libraries.

Cakewalk could be using its own part of the registry so that setting the paths there only helps in Cakewalk. Try locating the sounds in the EZbass and EZD2 standalones and see if PM sees them too after that. For EZkeys, see what I wrote earlier.

Things getting worse 😉 Even when I browse to the right directory EZBass standalone reports that it couldn’t find any sound library even they are there. Additionally EZBass is now crashing when opened in my DAW.

So I decided to reinstall it. Is it recommend to uninstall first?

To reinstall EZbass on Windows, yes, you should uninstall it first – remove both EZbass and any EZbass update in “Add/Remove Programs” (to which Product Manager has a link in Details > Installation Info).

As for Cakewalk, there is a known crash happening with the EZbass (1.1.0-1.1.2) VST3 for some users. Using the VST2 is one solution to that. You can make VST2s available in Cakewalk preferences.
