alright guys, i bet you heard this a lot of times before but checking google and using the search feature in the forums didnt result in something usefull here, so i’m really sorry, if i’m the 100.000 fool who posted this.
a few days ago i bought windows 7 home premium (xp before) and nowdays i was going to reinstall my musicsoftware and all the stuff needed (vsti’s etc.) everything works fine instead of ezdrummer.
it gives me the message
ezdrummer cannot find the sound files!
reinstall ezdrummer or move the sounds to:
the path to the sounds are not set.
windows 7 is going to install all programs here: c:/ programs (x86) /
afaik ezdrummer is going to install the soundfiles to c: / program files / toontrack.which worked with xp case there is a program files folder.
the problem is, there is no program files folder in my system, so i think thats the problem.
when i want to create a folder on c: / called program files it says it already excists under the name “programs” so i searched for the folder and put the toontrack folder inside “programs” – also no positive result.
it takes no effect in programs (x86) , in programs neither, also i cant create program files case its the same as programs under 7..
i would be really thankfull for help, cause i’m using ezdrummer in like all of my songs tho.
best regards, chris
Hi Chris,
are you installing from the original DVD or are you installing from the Full Download archive available in your account?
If the former, please try the Full Download.
Next, perform the 1.2.0 update.
Are you using Win 7 64-bit? If so, you need the 64-bit Public Beta also available in your Toontrack account.
Best Regards,
John

Right, I think you are confused by some localization in effect on your system but that’s beyond the scope of my response… the bottom line is that you don’t have to create directories manually.
If the install process goes through until completion (whatever install paths you choose) and you’re still getting that error this is almost certain that is because you are not running it while logged in as an administrator on the computer. If you are unable to install using the default paths then that would be another sign that this is what you are trying to do.
