I am using ProTools and trying to bounce drum tracks out of SD3 to individual tracks so I can send them to my mixing engineer.
I used this video for my first song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7y3oMbDvXA Even though a lot of people were critical of this video, it worked without a hitch on the first song.
So now I have a new song, and I tried the same process from the video. Everything is out of synch this time, and I believe it’s because this track has a tempo change (the first song didn’t). The first 8 bars of the song are at 192 bpm and then in bar 8 it changes to 123 bpm and stays there for the duration.
At first I thought the drums were bouncing at the 192 speed and just staying there (not observing the track’s tempo change). So I bounced the drums, drug them back into the session, spliced at the 8th bar and listened. Still, everything out of synch, apparently not lining up to the ProTools grid in anyway.
Is there a better overall way to bounce drums to individual tracks (stems) than that outlined in the video? And does anyone have any ideas as to why my second song bounce isn’t working?
Thanks for your time and expertise,
Hi,
if you are using the SD3 internal Bounce (Export Song as Audio Files) and the Song has Tempo and/or Tim sig changes, these need to be on your SD3 Song Track as well and when you perform the Export, you need to Disable ‘Follow Host’ while doing so.

Thanked by: CrashMonarchI don’t see any way to put tempo changes on the SD3 song track. All I see is half time, double tempo, 2/3, 3/2 — but no detailed way to change tempo.

Thanked by: CrashMonarchAnother Tip is if you have the Tempo and Time Sig changes in your DAW, you can export a MIDI file (doesn’t really matter what it contains) and then Import these to your SD3 Song Track via the Track Menu.
