Using Reaper – 6.19 on a mac book pro (late 20112, OSX 10.13.6 High Sierra). EZBass on one track as a FX plugin, EZ Drummer on aonther track as a FX plugin.
Dropping midi grooves onto the song track in the ezd and ezb plugin window
Playing back using Reaper DAW and the EZB/EZD plugins set to follow host
All of a sudden, when adding EZBass (but not every time, and not immediately when adding/editing/composing a song), playback becomes not possible for the whole song. Its like there is a time selection hidden somewhere that is preventing the entire song from playing – it only will play a couple of bars, then stops. If I select outside of that ‘playable area’ it will play a single note – like probably the single note that is located at the current cursor playback position.
To clarify, there is no midi or anything else displayed on the track, because it is playing EZD and EZB thru the FX attached to the track.
If I copy/paste the midi out of the FX directly into the track, then it plays through OK, but it seems ot me that one possible and reasonable workflow would be to work inside the FX that’s following the host, moving items around in the song track until it gets close, THEN copying the midi tracks over direcltly into a track in Reaper.
Feature? Bug? Short between the headset/PEBCAK? Noobie inexperience / missing something obvious?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I don’t know what causes this but it stops at the same place in that project even if you remove EZbass and EZdrummer. If you go to Project Settings > Advanced and turn ON “Limit project length, stop playback/recording at: 10:00.000”, it no longer stops at that place. It feels like a Reaper bug that it stops early without “Limit project length”.

Thanks for the notes and the workaround. I’m glad that you were able to replicate the issue.
I have a couple of questions/clarifications:
Perhaps it’s supposed to work like that, that it stops after the last item on the tracks unless the “limit” option is used to specify the project length? See these threads that I found:

If you still think the behaviour is unexplainable, I have no idea how Cockos support works.
