I am new to Easy Drummer. I’ve had Easy Drummer 2 for a year or two, but never used it because it was compressed and unrealistic. I’m used to using Addictive Drums. I just tried upgrading to Easy Drummer 3 based on great reviews and was very pleased with the new sound library. The drums and no longer compressed and sound great, unless i choose a preset that deliberately adds compression.
when I first tried Easy Drummer 3, it defaulted to the standard GM midi keyboard layout… i.e., F sharp, G sharp, and A sharp for the open closed hi hat
which was started by Roland with their MT 32 synth and Roland soundcards. Now when I open Easy Drummer the mapping is all different. I went to the midi mapping page and only saw dozens of individual keys mapped to drums. Where is the box I can click on and choose GM midi mapping?
I tried to email tech support, but the form wouldn’t let me send it. I hate getting tech support through a forum. I shouldn’t have to search through thousands of questions and replys to find this. Can Tech support fix the contact tech support form?
maybe you’ll find what you’re looking for in

Thanked by: Walter Aycock JrHi,
apart from checking the manual, to bring up the ‘Edit Mapping in E-drums/MIDI In’ page, you can:
– right-click any instrument and select ‘Edit Mapping in E-drums/MIDI In’
– click the small menu right next to the ‘MIDI’ label in the lower right corner
– go to the Settings menu and then ‘E-drums/MIDI In’
When this page is open, you see the MIDI Preset selected in the top center of the page. ‘Toontrack Standard’ is GM compatible.
