My AAX plugin was accidentally deleted from my Pro Tools plugin folder due to a #$!@ing overeager uninstaller software (Mac Monterey 12.3.1). The TT Product Manager indicated that the installation was complete with an asterisk in red text “AAX not installed.” So I reinstalled EZD, thinking it would reinstall the AAX plugin – it didn’t. So then I dragged the EZDrummer.aaxplugin file from my backup drive into the Pro Tools folder and restarted PT. Then PT deactivated the plugin and gave me an error message (aae -7054) which is associated with a plugin being 32 bit or out of date.
I’m hoping I can do a full reinstall of the EZD core, INCLUDING an AAX file as installed by the program rather than copy/pasted by me, and that PT will then read it correctly.
Or whatever else you nice people can steer me towards here. Thanks!
Running the latest software updater (2.2.3) should install the AAX.

That’s what I thought, too. So I tried it a couple times, but it still didn’t install the AAX plugin. Went through and re-installed the core and the updates from the Product Manager at least twice, but still had the red asterisk and the missing file.
You probably need to click the “Customize” button in the updater and select AAX.

Thanked by: CarsonicBloomsWell, in case anyone else needs to fix this, Olof’s suggestion is correct, but I had to hunt around to figure out how to do this, since it doesn’t just show you an Install or Re-install button. Here are the steps.
In the Downloads tab of the Product Manager, Updates section, click the 3 lines with the down arrow for the latest update. There you’ll find an option to Install. Select that. As you’re clicking through the install steps, be sure to watch for the box that has a Customize button and select that. The AAX option was unchecked for me.
The AAX option isn’t available in the main install package, only the most recent updater.
