    Well,

that error returns an abundance of posts if you search the Digidesign User Conference, I’m afraid.
I would try updating to the 8.0.3cs2 version and check posts like this:

    for more tips.

    Hi John,

Thanks for your help. Regrettably I’m on the PowerPC platform so the highest I can go is 8.01. That being said, I was thinking of making the leap back to Windows as the Mac experience has been underwhelming for me. One thing I have noticed with my current setup is that if I increase the buffer latency to 1024 in Pro Tools LE while recording drums it eases the pain a bit. For instrument recording I usually leave it at 256. I’ll keep messing with it and try to find the magic number so to speak.

A little unfair as you are using a brand new product (EZdrummer, PTLE8) with a computer Apple retired 4 years ago.

I’m using a fairly inexpensive Intel iMac and having no problems with PTLE and Superior (EZdrummer’s big brother).

    OK,

and reducing RTAS processors by 1 does not help at all?
Paradoxically, I think I got the best performance out of my Mac Pro (Intel Xeon) when I was on 8.0.1cs1.
I have been reading through a couple of pages of the error on the DUC and I must say it is hard to find any viable solutions. It seems some have solved it by installing new USB/FW Controllers, others by installing new RAM, others by switching their M-Audio interface to an MBox 2 or Digirack 002/003 or even the interface cable.
Is the Firmware updated in your MBox2 Mini?

    Best Regards,
    John

If it meets the manufacturer’s specifications and is used according to said specifications then it should work accordingly. Age is irrelevant.

Thanks John. All good suggestions. Playing around with it some more, I think the issue is definitely with Pro Tools. I used EZdrummer for over a year with no problems at all in MOTU. Only reason I switched to PT was for compatibility reasons with some of my songwriting friends but it seems I’ve made a mistake.

MOTU please welcome back a prodigal son!
