I have Drumkit From Hell and noticed that the 3rd cymbal from the bottom right which is an upside down china has a possible bug. When I try to hit it the ride cymbal(last on bottom right) strikes but when you strike the ride cymbal it sounds like a crash. Is this a bug? I have the updates installed and even tried reinstalling the program but it still does it.
Thanks
Tom

What note are you using to trigger the ‘ride’ sound of that ride cymbal?
The ‘ride’ sound for that cymbal is located at note number 108. The ‘crash/punch’ sound it triggered at note number 110. See the mapping pdf from the ‘?’ menu in EZdrummer for the complete layout of MIDI notes.
…or maybe I’m not following your question…

I have no idea what you’re talking about. I haven’t altered any of the install routings, however it was installed from the TT installer and is how it’s set up. I use Sonar Producer 8.5.3 and it’s contained within the VST folder that TT installed to if this helps.
Not sure where to find the info you asked for. I’m not that technologically advanced.

All articulations are triggered from MIDI note numbers. These notes correspond to notes of a keyboard that can be used for triggering them. You can see what notes trigger what sound in the MIDI layout pdf that can be found in the ‘?’ menu of EZdrummer.
I am saying that if you want to trigger the ‘ride’ sound of that cymbal, you need to trigger note 108.
Then again, I don’t fully follow your question which may be why the answer is confusing.

My question was:
On DFH, there are 2 cymbals that aren’t giving off the sounds that the picture represents(china sounds like a ride and the ride sounds like a crash). I didn’t alter anything, I just installed DFH like anyone else. Why first would I have to assign a note? Doesn’t that all set up when it installs or am I supposed to change stuff to use it properly?
I use Cakewalk Sonar 8.5.3 and there is, in the Help section, a set of directions on how to do it but it’s like reading chinese to me. Why would I have to go through this anyway? Shouldn’t everything work “stock” upon installing the software? Meaning that the default install or set up would set things up to the basic form of the software and then is a user wants to change stuff then you would go and assign different triggers and midi notes. TSo what I did was just put the Cd in and click install and the 2 cymbals are playing the wrong sounds for what they look like in the drum graphic.

I’m not sure how helpful this response will be, but you do realize that the graphics are static and some positions allow more than one (type) of cymbals to be loaded?
By default the ‘China 1’ slot to the right has a ‘Dark Chinese’ specifically marked as ‘Ride’. The cymbal by default in the right corner is a crash ride, with Bow, Bell and Edge sounds available.
Again I’m not sure what exactly you are reacting to, but it sounds to me like you are taking the graphics very literally.
In respect to what Scott was trying to point out is that there are more than meets the eye and you can also access alternative articulations compared to what you trigger the kit with with the mouse. This is documented in the ‘MIDI layout’ PDF that can be accessed from the Help menu (under the specific EZX you are interested in).
