Hello Toontrack developers,
With Cubase midi-parameters I can use EZDrummer2 excellently with e-drums. But one important thing is missing:
Playing the “closed” articulation instead of the “tight” one is impossible for variable hihat. My controller pedal always sends full CC04 value “127” when my foot closes the pedal – so the “tight” sound is the result.
I don´t know if you can “gate” Roland controllers’ values within a Roland modul – please tell me if you can set the put out midi CC04 value triggering the “closed” instead of the “tight” articulation for foot position fully down (e.g. max perhaps “123” – so with the foot fully down not a “127” is sent) – but I only know about trigger curves and these are only curves and not “gates”.
I even don’t have a chance with cubase midi parameters to gate the CC04.
So why not implementing a button “exclude tight articulations” because only having the “tight” sounds when playing e-drums is really annoying.
I´m really waiting for this feature!
You might say “please use SuperiorDrummer” but I can tell you that I have SD2 and bought the new EZD2 because it really sounds diffrent from SD2 and it is great and simple with the black box-like FX presets – so I don’t think that the flagship (SD2) should be preferred when wanting great e-drum-sound… You really did a great job with this new tool so please implement this feature with an update to be really perfect.
(the “exclude tight articulations” setting should be in the menu where you can choose hihat pedal curves…)

it would be really the most perfect if there was the option to mix the “tight” and the “closed” sounds for both pad areas (bow and edge):
For example having a “closed” bow sound and a “tight” edge sound for foot position fully down…
but I know: that’s a tall order

…oh, I know now what you mean: Cubase tools (midi-inserts) like “transformer” or “input transformer” (they have to work in real time).
Yes, they were there – included in my old 32 bit “Cubase Essential 4” – version.
My new 64 bit version is “Cubase Elements 7” (regarding the price it is the new renamed “Essential” version), and guess what?! : Midi-inserts have been removed.
So I have to pay another 153,- Euro to get the “Artist 7.5” version only for this feature.
So I ask you, the Toontrack developers: Do I really have to?
Or will my requested EZD2 feature be implemented soon???
