I really want to use percussion in my songs but for some reason they play back totally weird. I use “Follow Host” and do all my drum programming in Pro Tools, but I’m dragging the percussion stuff that I want to use from the browser in EZ within EZ. When I zoom into the midi track in EZ everything looks fine and on grid, but it plays back totally different.
All versions are updated..
Anyone??
So you have the MIDI that plays the drum kit in Pro Tools and the MIDI that plays the percussion (tambourine, shaker or single hits) in EZdrummer 2?
How does it sound if you mute the MIDI that Pro Tools plays (to exclude the possibility that Pro Tools also tries to play the percussion)?
How does it sound if you drag the percussion MIDI to Pro Tools and play it from there?

Hi Henrik,
Actually, dragging the midi over to Pro Tools works great! I didn’t know you could do that, so I guess the problem is solved.
I thought you could do both midi in EZ and Pro Tools at the same time as long as Follow Host was enabled.
Thanks!
Yeah, it’s good to know that you can drag the MIDI to your host, especially if you need to tweak some details that EZdrummer 2 can’t, move a single note for example. You can import it back into EZdrummer 2 after that to continue to edit the MIDI from there, since Power Hand and many others features are (according to my humble opinion) much smoother than in the host
But the situation you explained should work. It’s possible to play MIDI both from the host and from EZdrummer 2 at the same time. I’m going to check it out so there’s no bug etc.

I just tried your setup in Logic and it works. I have the kick and the snare MIDI in Logic and the tambourine MIDI is placed on EZdrummer 2’s song track. Have you checked that you have the latest version of EZdrummer? In the menu, there’s a menu entry called “Check for updates…”. Check that you have the latest version.
