“patch cannot be installed” When EZDrummer is installed

Hi everyone,

I am using Windows 7 64-bit and I installed the version of EZDrummer available from the download site (“TT106”). It seems to install fine, but I get the “patch cannot be installed” error when trying to install Drumkit From Hell. I tried installing the 32 bit and 64 bit updates, but to no avail.

I did make the rookie mistake of trying to install the 32-bit and 64-bit updates before installing the actual EZDrummer. I thought it would detect my XP installation, but was wrong apparently. I installed EZDrummer, then uninstalled the 64-bit update, then re-installed the updates. Still nothing. I’m not sure if this makes a difference, but I felt it couldn’t hurt to let you know either way.

One thing I am noticing is that if I run the 32 and 64 updates, Solo 32 detects EZ Drummer but Solo 64 does not.

EDIT: One other thing. The Cocktail EZX installs fine but DFH gives me the “cannot be installed” error.

it sounds to me that you haven’t installed the DFH base product, i.e the TT110 package, although I can see you have downloaded it. In any case the 32 vs 64 bit has nothing to do with EZX updates, if that’s the sole issue you are having.

On a sidenote, the (now) old solo 64-bit public beta readme file specifically states that you have to point it to your Toontrack plugins folder. We have now released solo 1.3.0 which hopefully will automatically pick up your repository, i.e EZdrummer 64-bit in your case if installed.

… so please install these 2 (TT110 full product and solo 1.3.0) and see if problems persist. We’ll be here if you need additional advices.

Yep, you were right. I was downloading the update this whole time instead of the base installer. I knew it had to be my fault. 😛
