Hello can anyone help/advise
I’m trying to replace a kick drum. I import the original audio file into Tracker, adjust so that the correct hits have been captured. Click export, move the Combined Drums file to the song track (even though it’s only 1 drum) Click the ‘track’ tab to export as midi, label and save in specified folder. When I try and re-import the new midi file into my DAW, I line up the first beat with the first beat of the song, but the rest of the file shows successive hits of out of time with the original audio file. By the end of the song finish, the newly imported midi track is way out and continues beyong the song end. What am I doing wrong and what can be done to avoid this happening?
Thanks
Rob
Hey Robr,
Most likely it’s because the tracker tempo did not match your audio source. Make sure that the tempo map settings match whatever tempo was set in your song. E.g. if you recorded your song in 180 BPM but have tracker set to 120 BPM, while the notes will be put in the correct place in relation to the song audio, they will be aligned to a different tempo in the MIDI, which was recorded thinking the tempo was another than it actually is.
A good way to make sure you don’t forget setting the tempo is always having the metronome active in the tracker.

Hi Erik,
Thank you for your reply. I followed your instructions and changed the tempo to match the project Tempo (see attachment), however, the file still overran the end of the song (see attachment) Any further help would be appreciated

Hey Robr,
If you set the tempo track to match Cubase, do you get the same issue? If you track the audio in the standalone application (and set the tempo to 72 BPM in the tempo map), is the delay issue still there? I’d be grateful if you could try that before I start asking for you to send stuff.
Looking at your screenshots, even though the tracker is supposed to insert the MIDI as 72 BPM, it looks more like 80 BPM comparing the tracks.

I have tried everything i can think of at this point , tempop tracker is always set to 120….i never had issues with having to change this in order for my consolidated audio files that i import into tracker top line up with drum tracks in my daw…. i changed tempo in tempo map to tempo of my song….like you described above and that didn’t help….my imported audio files are still out of time with my drum auidio files in daw
Hi,
without having your Project/Song in front of me it’s guess work but are the audio files starting at a cut Bar?
Do you drag the MIDI to the same Bar?
Are you playing back the MIDI from the SD3 Song Track or from your host track?

I gave up using this method as it depends on too many variables. Here is what I do.
once I have detected and am happy with the result in tracker I then enable midi out in SD3 and have SD3 follow the DAW. I create a midi track in my DAW (Cubase) with input from SD3 and no output. I then start play in my DAW with the midi track record enabled and record the midi output of SD3. Disable DAW follow. This new midi track will trigger SD3 correctly and does not depend on SD3 tempo. You can also render (in Cubase) the track to audio.
This may sound long winded but it works every time without having to set tempo in SD3 or export temp tracks etc. In reality it is really quick to setup.
