Hi,
I own a number of EZKeys midi packs and use them frequently in my song creation process. I have noticed that some packs are organized into Intro, Verse, Prechorus, Chorus, etc. and others are organized simply into A, B, C, etc.
I am not trained in music theory so perhaps I am just not aware of this alternate grouping method.
Can someone tell me what the A, B, C parts mean?
Thank you,
Steve Gerick

Intro, verse, pre-chorus, and chorus are labels for different sections of a song depending upon specific characteristics of melody and accompaniment. Most songs start out with some kind of an intro, then usually it is followed by one or two verses. After that there is sometimes a pre-chorus section which lead you into the chorus. There is frequently another section, to provide contrast for the song, and this is called the Bridge
Sections that are designated with letters of the alphabet will often be laid out in A, A, B, A to give an example. In this structure, usually the eight sections or verses and the B section is a contrasting section, in this case most likely the chorus.
I hope this helps!

Thanked by: Steve GerickYes. To tag onto this, you can think of A, B, C etc. as song sections, just liked Intro., verse, chorus, etc. The practice arose as a sort of shorthand for studio musicians who may walk in cold and have to quickly see the song structure and know what to play when.
