I believe I found an answer for question. In Logic Pro I can use the Velocity Compressor FX plugin, when needed.

I produce a lot of pop and R&B music, and I’ve found that a more consistent (one shot) drum sound works best for the style I’m going for, at the moment. In many cases, having fewer round robin variations and fewer velocity layers actually gives me the focused feel I need. I know I can adjust these settings per drum, which is part of what makes Superior Drummer 3 one of the most versatile drum VSTs on the market, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to control this more globally. Is there a setting or workflow that would let me temporarily reduce round robin variation and narrow the velocity response so I can audition different kits in that type of controlled environment? It would be great if there were a way to apply that across the entire kit at once rather than adjusting each drum individually.

Yes you can always reduce dynamics with a compressor or try reducing the velocity curve for all the instruments by shift highlighting them and setting the velocity curve to whatever suits you. As attached

Ok. Good stuff. I never tried selecting them all at once. That’s an easy fix. Much appreciated
