Once a clip is dragged to timeline, no way to know where it came from!

This is driving me crazy, and one reason I think the XLN Audio product rules in this regard – no way to keep track of where the clips were dragged from. The blue midi chunks just have the very last part of the name as their title. “fast fill” or whatever, not the whole path, “DFH/fast grooves/fill 2” as a loose example. Once I drag a few pieces down, I often later want to go back and add some more from that grouping, but I am finding I can rarely find where that was.

I was half expecting to double click on a blue midi chunk and have it call up where it was? Maybe a way to click on the clip and hit something to highlight in the browser above where it is?

Is there a hidden feature to help in this regard?

Page 19 of the most recent manual has this to say in this regard 🙂

Clips can of course be renamed. Right PC / Control MAC the clip and select ‘Rename’ and type in the new name in the ensuing dialogue. One nifty trick you will no doubt rely heavily on is the library anchor shortcut that allows you to return to the original clip in the Browser, be it to refer to the original groove or drag more copies of it (or the kit pieces it is composed of): Just SHIFT click the clip to instantly reveal it in your library!
